Another New School Year

New pencils, new pads of paper, and most of all new class syllabuses. I remember every school year receiving those syllabuses and thinking, “how am I ever going to get this all done??” And then I would head off to another class and get yet another list of reading materials and assignments for the semester or quarter. Ugh…. So how do you get it all done and keep your wits about you? And better yet, how do you sail through the semester with flying colors?

Pace Yourself

Like so much in life the key is to pace yourself. Plug away at your coursework often and make sure to keep pace with each classes’ work. But… be sure to give yourself breaks and recognize your accomplishments along the way. This is just as important. It not only gives you a proper sense of pride in your accomplishments but it motivates you to press forward to even more successes.

Don’t Procrastinate

Nobody likes to feel under pressure to complete a huge project in way too little time. Don’t let this happen to you. If you find yourself with a huge course load, make sure to plug away at each course frequently, not neglecting some for the much better of others.

Also, break down the seemingly impossible big papers and tasks into smaller projects. For example, break down reading assignments into daily chapters. Break down papers into sections. The more bite size you can make projects the less likely you will be tempted to procrastinate with them.

Remember… You Felt this Way Before

Every new endeavor, and that can be a new semester, seems to come with it a feeling of an overwhelming workload. Remember the times you felt this way before and how you still came out with success after success. You’ve been here before, you’ve succeeded and you will again. Let your past successes spur you on and quell down those feelings of being overwhelmed.

Are you Ready for Your Next New ???

Are you ready for your next new endeavor? The new school year? The next new project on your plate? What strategies do you deploy to stay on track and keep a steady pace going?

I'm definitely guilty of procrastinating and wish I didn't do it so much through school. It definitely affected my school work. Great post xx
