Recently I’ve been honored by my fellow bloggers with a variety of nominations, including the two Blogger Recognition Awards, the June Blogging Award, and the Sunshine Award by @ThatAustisticFitChic (https://thatautisticfitchick.com/), @SickwithOptimism (https://sickwithoptimism.com/), and @RodesontheRoad (https://www.rodesontheroad.com/).
As a relatively new blogger I’m honored not only to be nominated but nominated by such wonderfully talented bloggers. Thank you all for your readership, support, and recognition. It means the world to me.
So how did I get started? I originally got into blogging for therapeutic reasons. I had recently been diagnosed with a chronic illness and I had a lot of mixed emotions, challenges, and things I needed to work through. Writing quickly became my outlet. Soon I found that my positive, but real, outlook, was helpful to others so I decided to create a blog. It’s been one of the best and most invigorating things I have done in a while. Now my blog has blossomed into a place where my readers can find articles that will resonate with their own journey, strategies to help them get through a particular challenge, and also find support. Every day may not be good but there is good in every day is my motto!
Along the way, I’ve met amazingly talented bloggers, in particular @thatAutisticFitChic who I now consider a friend as well. As well as so many others, too many to name, though I will name a few in just a bit. Rather than write something for each nominationI thought would pick the one that seems to best "fit" with the theme of my blog – Realistic Optimism (RealisticOptimism.org). That's how I came to select the Sunshine Bloggers Award.
As far as advice I would give new bloggers is that other bloggers are your best friends! They have a wealth of knowledge and are incredibly generous with sharing it. They want you to succeed and will help you get there! The second piece of advice I would give would be to write not only about what you are passionate about but in your own voice. Keep your personality within your articles – they make for a more fun read and let us all get to know you better.
In honor of being nominated, I would like to nominate the following awesome bloggers:

Thank you again for the nominations – it’s made my day every time one has come my way!
From me to you,
Lisa
Thank you Lisa I appreciate it! Congratulations
It was really interesting to read this because it sounds like you and I have had a similar journey in our reasons for starting blogging and how cathartic we've found it. Looking forward to hearing more.
Such a great post! I love these awards as they make us all feel so appreciated. I've gotten to the point where I no longer remember what awards I need to write up. I will be sitting down someday to actually update them all, so please don't be offended if it takes me a while to return.
Awesome, sharing it forward is truly an act of someone I want to spend more time with. Bravo
